I painted a picture

And gave you blue lashes,
Myself red cheeks.
I'm still not quite sure why.
I took up that brush.

A reminder, perhaps?

the night comes alive...

I remember when I was just a teen, I would sneak out of the house late at night just to take a walk. I found the night air refreshing and cool and so very comforting. The best feeling would be feeling the light breeze against my skin. I could really think then and I loved being by myself. Just me and the moon. Something about the night calmed me down. Perhaps that's why I'm still such a night owl.

Tonight, I felt that way too, I wanted to walk out to feel the night again. Instead, I settled for sitting out by my porch and just paying attention to the slight sounds around me. And thinking how long it has been since I've sat out by myself with only the moon for company.

summary and wow it's been long

It has been a while. Well, a lot has happened over the last few months and I haven't really had the itch to write it all down. It has been one hellava roller coaster journey since June last year...some good, some bad, some in between. :)Thankfully, nothing to do with my lovelife, which has been good, just surrounding circumstances like work, moving house, errands and decisions of life. Overall, I have to say, what's life without some crazy antics going on? Don't get me wrong, life has been good to me but.... Seriously though, I really want to live a quiet and peaceful life...I think my life has started to settle down quite a bit and that's good. I'm not saying, I'm not up for an adventure! Having nomadic tendencies, i don't think I'll be settled for long! Honestly, i'm not quite sure what's up but I'll just go with the flow, somehow, life just works itself out...Now if only I can just quit worrying over nothing!

its been awhile

So much for blogging quite a bit during my last biz trip to Jakarta. Admittedly, I've been rather lazy in updating this blog. So much has happened since then, the last few weeks has been a thorough crazy mess of arranging moves, contractors and unpacking. I am so fortunate that my significant other is the patient sort, who took care of most of everything for me while i grouched it out. I come in very handy when needed to put our foot down with contractors/movers/whatever. To be clear, I'm never rude but I do have a bloody temper. Why am i so darn picky? In time, I might find some energy to blog about my new place which I loved, and then hated, and then am falling back in love again.

For now, I will leave you all with envy as I sit on my stool in the kitchen, watching my man cook for me, the smell of basil filling the air. Oh yes, dinner will be served shortly.

The beauty of Singapore Airlines

Here I am slumming it out in my comfies surfing the web in the airport looking like a total rag. It is at this precise self-deprecating moment that I catch a glimpse from the corner of my eye of a slim silhouette reflecting in the glass next to me. I turn around and see a bevy of slim, pretty girls all dressed in that iconic Singapore Airlines uniform. They looked amazing, well groomed and made me feel slightly envious as I wished that I could have the opportunity to don that uniform. Of course, I would make a very poor flight attendant with my clumsy gestures and  lack of patience..

Will be off to Jakarta in a bit.. I am sure I will be blogging a little more in the next couple of days as I will have nothing better to do after my meetings.

My trip to HK

Hong Kong was amazing! I loved how organic and gritty the city is and how there doesn't seem to be a plan with buildings just sprouting where ever they desire. Tall, dense and extremely urban. You could be dining on the 20th floor and feel like you're on the 3rd floor. Peering out of the windows, I feel like I'm just waiting for an airborne car to zoom right by. Any day now, I'm sure it'll happen first in Hong Kong.

We were lucky to have wonderful friends who brought us out to dinner so we had really good food for the two nights that we were in HK. It was just so much fun to soak up another Asian city for the weekend.

My time there was regrettably too short. Too little shopping, definitely not enough eating. But there will be next time since I am but a mere short flight away. And of course no trip to HK will be complete without buying some tech toys. Danjel bought a Canon 5D Mark II and I acquired an Asus EEEPC. Needless to say, we are happy, happy people.
