Missing Mabul-Sipadan

If you don't know where Sipadan is, it's just this gorgeous place off the coast of Borneo that probably has the best diving in the world. Or so I hear. Tourists can no longer stay on Sipadan due to conservation efforts and only 120? visitors are allowed on the island per day.

I don't dive but what I can tell you is that it is pretty darn gorgeous. I had the pleasure of visiting this gem of a destination about a month ago and I still dream of its' beautiful turquoise waters and enchanting sea turtles. Oh and not to forget the myriad of aquatic life that we saw even though we were just snorkeling. I had never been to this place before and was worried that the photos of the resort were too good to be true. But the waters are exactly as seen in the photos! We celebrated Dan's bday over this trip amongst other little milestones...our first Valentine's being one of them. It was just the best place to be at and one of my best vacations in my life.

Mabul Water Bungalows, just absolutely beautiful! 2 thumbs up, high up! If you're thinking of going, I highly recommend booking with Sipadan Diving Vacation - they handled all our bookings professionally and the lady was just super patient with all my questions before the trip. Bonus points for them as they even sent a bottle of red wine for Dan's bday, showed up in our room when we came back in the afternoon. Oh and the resort made a cake and surprised us during dinner with a little song. It was really funny especially since Dan had pleaded with me NOT to spring any surprises that would put him the spotlight. When they came out singing, Dan looked at me and I swore I had nothing to do with it! Honest!
