Welcome long weekend!

Ahh, the glorious long weekend. So far, it's been filled with sunshine and lazy days. I love it.

It started out fabulously with dinner at En Dining Bar around Robertson Quay where we feasted on copious amounts of sashimi and sushi. I can still taste the sweet, sweet prawns and my favorite Ikura sushi. After 2 hours of eating, we decided it would be time to graduate to dessert and we walked over to Canele where we indulged in sugar and more sugar and caffeine. Oh and it doesn't end there, no way! We walked over to the Wine and Cheese bar right round the corner and bought a bottle of shiraz. Of course, it wouldn't be complete with a cheese platter! How can you go to a wine and cheese bar and refuse cheese? Unthinkable! The boys let me decide since I am the cheese connoisseur and were very pleased with my selection of gruyere, mimolette and a soft brie-like cheese whose name is escaping me at this moment. Mmmmm, Friday night was definitely an exercise in gluttony but with such a start to the weekend, one can only expect good things for the rest of it.

I hadn't planned anything special. I knew what I wanted and needed. Rest and lots of it. For some reason, working is taking the wind out of me. I am adjusting to the rhythm of my new life and eventually, I'll get it. It's been a crazy last 2 weeks with many changes, both in my work and personal life. Thankfully, things seem to be working out and it looks like we're going to be in Singapore for a while :)

I woke up on Saturday to the beaming sun and sat up looking out of my window thinking, wow, it's so beautiful. It's so lovely to see the sun. This is why I love Singapore, despite the thunderstormy afternoons that we've been getting lately, I still see a lot of sun. Definitely more than Vancouver and I'm so thankful for that every single day.Yes, this weekend has been lovely and since I have Monday off, it means that I have one more glorious, lazy day ahead of me.

Oh yes, I will savor it.
